Captain Dave’s is a local owned restaurant and has been passed down to several generations. And you might get the chance to actually meet my big girl as she finds you a seat. You will not find better Seafood, Gulf front view, and atmosphere than here. So much that my toddler here thinks that this is HER bar and HER restaurant. These guys have become like family to us. After they eat, they always tell me it was worth the wait and the drive over to Scenic 98. I constantly rave to them that they need to get on the waiting list while we shoot. We meet several clients here during the busy season. Below I will share a few of our favorites with you that will hopefully help you plan your perfect trip to the beach! I’ve watched this place change and grow so quickly.
After the first dances, everyone was able to mingle as the sky turned all shades of red and pink. And the day would not have been complete without a gorgeous sunset. The huge, open lawn made for a beautiful setting for Abbie and John to dance under the string lights. The ceremony was held on the beach in front of the Reaves' condo and reception followed across the street at Gulf Place! All the colors of the Gulf Place Town Center mixed in perfectly with Abbie's bright and colorful vision. We took several bridal party photos at the Baytowne Wharf at the marina and at an awesome little spot where Abbie found a little nook of spanish moss nestled off the boardwalk. At the very end of the dock of the Baytowne marina on a beautiful July day, John gave Abbie a handwritten message in a bottle along with the most gorgeous ring you will ever see! Nine months later, we were able to visit the very same marina and take part in their wedding day! Abbie, of course, decided to marry in Florida and it was so perfect for them. She and her bridesmaids got ready in her parents home in Miramar Beach, just a few minutes away from the ceremony site at their condo in Santa Rosa Beach on 30A. After graduation though, John got Abbie's number again and decided to call her up. Those freshman year crushes were soon rekindled and before long, what was a simple crush bloomed into something much more.Ībbie and John spent a ton of time at the beach, so it's no surprise that when John was ready to pop the question, there was only one perfect location in his mind. However, they went their separate ways after their first year of school. John was from Sylacauga, just an hour away from Auburn. They were study buddies who were well aware they both had crushes on each other. She graduated from high school here in B'ham and decided to go to Auburn University! There she met John her freshman year. Throughout her life, they went back and forth between Birmingham and Destin regularly.
Let us tell you a little about Abbie and John: Abbie grew up living in Destin, FL every summer which is where her parents now reside.
